In the parlour, we focused on preserving its Victorian-era details, including conserving the plaster cornices and intricate light medallion. I documented the imitation wood graining on the window paneling, applied by a previous owner, and also explored the historical context of the room’s use as a tavern bar during the early 19th century. Through this restoration, I ensured the room’s architectural features were maintained while revealing its layered history.
